Episcopal Voices Forum Rules

Episcopal Voices is a free public forum. It is intended to be a place where Episcopalians, Anglicans, friends, inquirers, and others can "meet" to share news, views, and fellowship. No registration is required to lurk, but a free registration is required to post(except in the "Inquirer's Class", where anyone can post). The rules are pretty basic, and are listed below.

If you are found to be in violation of the forum rules:

-- Strike One: a warning
-- Strike Two: your post will be edited/deleted
-- Strike Three: you may be banned from the forum at the sole discretion of the moderator.

FORUM RULES:

No Flaming Allowed "Flaming" is defined as a personal, malicious or judgemental attack on another person or group, and will not be tolerated. Heated discussion is to be expected, but let's not get personal....
The line between expressing strong opinions and flaming someone can sometimes be a fine one. Final decision as to whether or not a message is a "flame" is mine as forum manager.

NOTE: This is a forum for the *sharing* of views. If you are unwilling or unable to listen respectfully to opinions which differ from your own, I respectfully suggest that your time would be better spent elsewhere.

One Online "Name" Only as a matter of courtesy, I ask that posters confine themselves to a single 'name'. An occasional name change is permissible, but please post a message giving both your old and your new names, so that those reading the board will have some opportunity to keep track.

No Spamming Allowed In case you need a definition, Spamming is defined as the deliberate, repeated posting of irrelevant information (relevancy determined by the designated purpose of the board-see top of page). Occasional off-topic posting is acceptable, just don't make a habit of it.

Please Limit Profanity Surely this doesn't require a lot of elaboration. An occasional "damn" or "hell" will be tolerated, but only in moderation. Just about everything else will be zapped by the profanity filter. Posts that contain links to X-rated sites will, of course, be deleted. Remember, Episcopalians may occasionally be profane, but we are NEVER vulgar! :)

No Commercial Advertising It's fine to announce parish or diocesan events or other events you think our visitors may find interesting, or to put up links to your homepage or favorite sites (including commercial sites, such as Amazon.com) or to post information about books, software, or other products you think other visitors may find informative or useful. If your chief purpose in posting here is to sell a product, however, please refrain.

No Copywrited Material Please do not post articles, jokes, photographs or graphics that don't belong to you. In general, if you are referring to something that is not your own work, a hyperlink or short summary is much preferable to several quoted pages on the forum.
